We’re Lost in Music

Posted on

We love keeping up to date with events and immersive experiences here at Cult, so we were eagerly awaiting the announcement of the Southbank Centre’s 2016/17 Classical Music Season. It didn’t disappoint, with the highlight of the season for us being the Digital Takeover of the Royal Festival Hall, featuring the Philharmonia Orchestra as they step into the tech realm.

Contemporary, classical and digital will merge together from 23rd September for 10 days, with visitors bring presented with free headsets for a performance of Sibelius’ Symphony No. 5., with progressive VR experts Inition on hand to bring the experience to life through virtual reality.

Firmly rooted in Shoreditch, Inition are at the fore-front of experiential technologies and we’ve been keeping an eye on what they do for a while! Their specialisation in entirely immersive experiences is achieved through a seamless combination of creative minds, content and cutting-edge tech – 3D, Virtual, Augmented…you name it they’re on it. They’ve achieved what most of us would never even imagine, including 3D printing of Bond Street’s Cross Rail and sending PacMan into Space!

One for the tech-savvy, the creatives and music-heads – get involved and see how technological developments are being used to keep traditional arts at arm’s reach. We are so excited for this unique, musical experience but have kept ourselves busy with the Polyphonic Playground at House of Vans!
